Alissa Hobby began studying ballet at the age of 3 at Evergreen Dance Center in Longview, Washington. Her training also includes hip hop, jazz, lyrical, modern and enjoys taking Pilates, ballroom, and belly dancing classes as well. Alissa taught at Evergreen Dance Center in Longview, Washington, for two years before she attended college at the University of Washington, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in European Studies with a minor in Dance in 2011.  Throughout her years of training, Alissa performed in at least two performances a year, with experience in yearly dance recitals (including solo work) while in high school and as the lead role in Evergreen Dance Center’s performance of “Alice in Wonderland” in 2008. She also performed with Dawn Pruszkowski, owner of  Worship Steps, in the instructional dance video “Here I Am” in 2006.  In 2009, she performed in Jürg Koch’s “Episode 14:57″ for the University of Washington’s Faculty Dance Concert.

Alissa began teaching again in 2012 in Del Rio, Texas. The summer of 2012, she helped create and run a Princess-Themed Summer Dance Camp for girls ages 3-5. She performed in the Border Ballet Company’s Nutcracker in December 2012, as well as sending a group of her students to perform for the show.

Currently Alissa is the instructor and owner of Hobby Dance & Fitness, which offers dance and fitness classes on Fort Dix; offering classes at the Community Center of United Communities. Alissa is also a dance and fitness instructor at the YMCA of Mt. Laurel and Burlington/Riverfront.

Alissa is Adult CPR/AED, Pediatric CPR and First Aid Trained through the American Red Cross. She holds a Group Fitness Certification from ACE and a Pre/Post Natal Exercise Specialist Certification from AFPA.
